Coming from Tebex
Tebex and Minecraftstore.io both use Twig for custom templates. The main differences in variables, the cart and the checkout, to move your Tebex template over.
Tebex templates are written in Twig as well, so your HTML, CSS and most of your Twig carry over. The variables and the cart work differently. A Tebex template does not run here unchanged, so take the starter theme as the base and copy your design into it.
Variables
| On Tebex | Here |
|---|---|
store.name, store.logo, store.currency |
store.name, store.logo, store.currency |
store.categories |
categories |
store.pages |
pages |
A package, with package.name, package.price and package.image.url |
A product, with product.name, product.price and product.image. See a product. |
basket |
The cart lives in the player's browser. Add with cart_button(product), open it with open_cart(). |
modules, as HTML |
modules, as data, so you decide how they look. See modules. |
checkout |
No variable: the checkout keeps your built-in theme. |
The cart and the checkout
On Tebex the basket and the checkout are part of your template. Here the cart and the checkout are ours: the cart opens over your page, and the checkout takes your built-in theme. You never have to build or test the paying part, and a mistake in a template can never stop a player from paying.
Scripts and outside services
On Tebex you can add scripts and load files from anywhere. Here your JavaScript goes in theme.js, and pages do not load anything from other sites. A script tag in a template, Google Fonts or an analytics tag will not work. Put fonts and images in your theme instead. Need a service we do not allow yet? Tell us which one.
Checklist
- Start a new theme from the starter theme.
- Copy your CSS into
theme.css. Change links to images and fonts on other sites to files in your theme. - Move your header and footer into
layout.twig. Our footer stays under it. - Rebuild your category and package templates in
category.twigandproduct.twigwith the variables above. - Replace every basket button with
cart_button(product). - Open every page in the preview, then publish.
