Rank upgrades

Players pay only the difference to the next rank.

A player with VIP who wants MVP should not pay the full price twice. Mark MVP as an upgrade from VIP and the store takes off what they already paid, runs your upgrade commands and takes the old rank away.

Set up an upgrade

  1. 1

    Open the higher rank

In the product form of MVP, pick under Upgrades from the ranks it replaces, like VIP.

  2. 2

    Add the upgrade commands

Under When bought as an upgrade, take the old rank away: lp user {player} parent remove vip. They run after the normal commands.

  3. 3

    That is it

The product page tells a player with VIP: Own VIP? You pay only €5.00. At checkout it shows as Upgrade from VIP.

More rules that sell for you

Checked the moment a player types their name, and again just before they pay.

  • Requires a rank

MVP+ only for players who own MVP or VIP, or buy it in the same cart. The checkout says what is missing.

  • Limits per player

One starter kit per player, for good or once every 7 days. The store card shows the limit, the checkout says when they can buy again.

  • Choices at checkout

A tag colour from a list, or a pet name the player types. It goes straight into your command.

Kept on the order

The order remembers the upgrade, what came off the price and what the player chose. You see it in the dashboard, the player sees it on their order page, and Stripe shows the line as MVP (upgrade from VIP). The platform fee is only over what the player paid.

Questions

How does the store know what a player owns?

From their purchases in your store, by Minecraft account. A timed rank counts while it runs. A refunded order does not count.

What if the player owns more than one lower rank?

The most expensive one they own comes off the price. The price never goes below zero.

Does a sale still work on an upgrade?

Yes. The difference is worked out with today's prices, sale included, so the player always pays what the two ranks cost now.

Can a player pick something, like a tag colour?

Yes. Give a product up to three choices, a list or a short text, and use them in your commands as {colour} or {pet_name}. Text is limited to letters, digits, _ and -, so nobody can sneak a command in.

Your players are already asking for a rank.

Give them a place to buy it. Your store is live in minutes, and it costs nothing until the first sale.
