Banning players

Stop a player from buying in your store, ban players who charge back automatically, and lift a ban when you want them back.

A banned player cannot buy in your store. Use it after a chargeback, or when a player is banned from your server. This page shows how to add a ban, how the automatic ban on chargebacks works and how to lift a ban.

How a ban works

  • A ban is on the player's Minecraft account, not on their name. When you ban a name, we look it up at Mojang and keep the account's UUID. A new name does not get around the ban.
  • A ban counts in your store only. Other stores on the platform are not affected.
  • The checkout refuses a banned player before they pay. They see that they cannot buy here, but never the reason.

Ban a player

  1. In the dashboard, open Banned players under Game.
  2. Click Ban a player.
  3. Fill in the Minecraft username.
  4. Optionally, fill in a Reason. Only you see it.
  5. Click Ban player.

The player shows in the list with their head, the reason and the date of the ban.

Faster from a player or an order

You can also start a ban from two other places. The name is then filled in for you.

  • On the Players page, open the menu next to a player and click Ban player.
  • On the page of an order, click Ban this player next to the buyer's details. If the player is already banned, the order says so.

Ban players who charge back

A chargeback is when a player disputes a payment at their bank. At the top of the Banned players page is the switch Ban players who charge back. It is on by default.

When it is on and a player charges back, they are banned in your store by themselves. The reason is the order, like "Chargeback on order #1042".

Turn the switch off if you would rather decide for each chargeback yourself. The change is saved right away.

A chargeback does more than the ban. Deliveries that had not run yet are stopped, and Discord roles and timed products from that order are taken back. See Refunds and chargebacks for the whole process.

If the bank later sides with you, the ban stays. Whether the player can buy again is up to you.

Lift a ban

  1. Open Banned players.
  2. Click Lift ban next to the player.
  3. Confirm with Lift ban.

The player can buy again right away.
