Your own domain

Run your store on your own address, like shop.yourserver.net. Add two DNS records, we verify them and set up https for free.

Every store has an address like yourstore.minecraftstore.io. You can also run it on your own domain, like shop.yourserver.net. Players then see your name in the address bar, and links and mails use it. It is free, also without Pro.

Add your domain

  1. Open Settings, then Domain.
  2. Type your domain under Your domain, like shop.yourserver.net. Leave out https:// and any path.
  3. Click Add domain.

A subdomain like shop.yourserver.net is easiest. Your bare domain, like yourserver.net, works too.

You cannot use an address of Minecraftstore.io itself, and you cannot use a domain that another store has already verified.

Add the DNS records

After you add the domain, the page shows two records under Add these records at your domain provider. Add both in the DNS settings of the company where you bought the domain. Each value has a Copy button.

For a subdomain

For shop.yourserver.net the records look like this:

Type Name Value
CNAME shop stores.minecraftstore.io
TXT _minecraftstore.shop mcs-verify-…
  • The CNAME record sends visitors to your store.
  • The TXT record proves the domain is yours. Its value is a code made for your store. Copy it from the Domain page.

For a bare domain

A bare domain cannot have a CNAME, so it gets an A record instead:

Type Name Value
A @ the IP shown on your Domain page
TXT _minecraftstore mcs-verify-…

Some providers offer an ALIAS or ANAME record. Pointing that to stores.minecraftstore.io works too.

Many DNS panels add your domain to the name by themselves. That is why the names above are short, like shop instead of shop.yourserver.net. Type them as the Domain page shows them.

Verification

While we wait for your records, the domain shows as Pending. We check by ourselves every few minutes. You can also click Check now. DNS changes can take up to an hour.

If something is still missing, the page tells you what:

Message What to check
The TXT record with your code is not there yet. The TXT record, its name and the exact code.
The CNAME record does not point to stores.minecraftstore.io yet. The CNAME record of your subdomain.
The A record does not point to our server yet. The A record of your bare domain.

When both records are right, the domain shows as Verified and your store runs on it. Your old minecraftstore.io address keeps working and sends players to your domain.

We keep checking for 72 hours. If the records are still not right by then, the domain shows as Failed. Fix the records and click Check again to start a new round of checks.

The https certificate

A secure https certificate comes with your domain, for free. It is set up on the first visit to your domain, and it renews by itself. You do not need to do anything for it.

Keep the records in place

Leave both records in place for as long as you use the domain. Removing them takes your store off the domain.

If your DNS breaks after the domain was verified, your store keeps running on the domain for now. The Domain page shows a warning with the problem the last check found, so you can fix it.

Remove your domain

  1. Open Settings, then Domain.
  2. Click Remove domain and confirm.

Your store goes back to its minecraftstore.io address right away. Links to your own domain stop working once you remove its DNS records.
