Categories and the comparison table
Group your products in categories and subcategories, set their order, and add a comparison table that shows what each rank includes.
Categories are the tabs at the top of your store, like Ranks, Crate keys and Kits. Players find products through them. This page covers adding and ordering categories, and the comparison table you can add to each one.
Add a category
Go to Categories in the dashboard and click Add category. You can also create one from the product form: pick New category… in the Category select.
The form has these fields:
- Name: up to 64 characters, like Ranks.
- Place in the navigation: Top level, a tab of its own, or inside another category. See subcategories below.
- Description: plain text, up to 1,000 characters, shown above the products on the category's page.
- Show on store: turn it off to hide the category. A hidden category hides all its products and subcategories too.
- Menu item: the Minecraft item players see for this category in the shop menu on your server.
Click Add category to save. Each category gets an address on your store, shown under Address when you edit it. The address is made from the first name and stays the same when you rename the category, so links players shared keep working.
Subcategories
Categories go two levels deep. A category is either at the top level or inside a top-level category. A subcategory shows as a link on the page of its parent.
- Only a top-level category can hold subcategories. You can not put a subcategory inside another subcategory.
- A category that has subcategories stays at the top level. The Place in the navigation select is locked for it.
Change the order
On Categories, drag a row by its handle to move it. Top-level categories move among each other, and subcategories move within their parent. Players see the same order on your store and in the shop menu on your server.
A category that moves to another level goes to the end of that level. Products are sorted within their category on the Products page. See Products and prices.
Hide or delete a category
Open the menu at the end of a row. Hide from store and Show on store switch the category off and on. View on store opens its page.
Delete asks where its products go. Pick another category to move them to the end of it, or Nowhere, take them off the store. Products without a category are not on your store until you give them one. Subcategories of a deleted category move up to the top level, so nothing in them disappears.
The comparison table
A comparison table shows what each product in a category has, row by row. It is made for ranks: players see at a glance what MVP has that VIP does not.
Open the editor
Edit an existing category and click Edit table in the Comparison table card. The table needs at least two products in the category. With fewer, the editor asks you to add them first.
Fill in the table
Each product in the category is a column, in the same order as on the Products page. Each row is a perk.
- Type the perk in the first column, like Chat colour or Homes.
- For each product, click Included or Not included, or type a short value like
3 homes. - Click + Add a perk for the next row.
- Click Save table.
Some rules:
- A table has at most 30 rows.
- A perk name and a value are at most 60 characters each.
- Typing
yes, yortruegives the same tick as Included. Typingno, norfalsegives a cross. - An empty cell shows as a dash on your store.
- A row without a perk name but with values gets an error. A completely empty row is left out.
Move a row with the up and down arrows, or drag it by its handle. The trash icon removes it. Until you click Save table, players still see the old table.
Where players see it
The table shows under the products on the category's page, as long as it has at least one row and the category has at least two products. If you save an empty table, players do not see one.
The Most popular badge
The Tiers theme shows a category with a comparison table as steps, one column per product. It can mark one rank with a Most popular badge in your store colour.
This is the theme setting Stand out on the Theme page, set to The rank that sold most by default. The badge goes to the product in that category that sold the most units in the last 30 days, counting paid orders that were not refunded. If no product sold, or two share the top, no product gets the badge. Pick No rank to turn it off. See Themes.
