My purchases and contacting you

Give players a contact email for questions about a purchase, and learn how My purchases shows every order a player made in your store.

Players need to know who to ask about a purchase, and where to find what they bought. Your store has two things for that: a contact email you set, and a My purchases page that every store has.

Why this matters

Mojang's usage guidelines ask every server that takes money for two things, among others:

A way to reach you about a purchase that is not a chat. Chat and forum links do not count.
An online payment and purchase history for every buyer.

The contact email covers the first. My purchases covers the second.

Set your contact email

Open Settings, then Branding.
Under For your players, fill in Contact email, like support@yourserver.com.
Click Save changes.

Where it shows

In the footer of every page of your store, as a link players can click.
On the My purchases page, under the list of orders.
In the order confirmation mail.

It is also the reply address of every mail your store sends to a player: the order confirmation, the reminder for a rank that is about to end, and the link to their purchases. When a player answers one of those mails, the answer comes to you.

Without a contact email

The field is optional, and you can publish your store without it. But then replies to player mails go to the platform's orders address instead of to you, and players only have your Discord. A contact email is the better choice.

My purchases

Every store has a My purchases link in its footer. It opens /purchases on your store.

Players do not have an account in your store. So instead of logging in, they type the email address they bought with and click Send me the link. They get a mail with a link to every purchase they made in your store.

The list shows each paid order with its number, status, amount and a View order link to the order page. Refunded orders are in the list too.

The order confirmation mail already contains this link, so a player who keeps that mail can always find their purchases.

How it stays private

The page always answers "Check your inbox", whether the address bought something or not. Nobody can use it to find out who bought in your store.
A mail is only sent to an address that has paid orders in your store.
An address gets at most three links per hour.
A link works for 24 hours and only on your store. After that, the player asks for a new one on the same page.
The email address never shows in the link itself.
