Fees

What Minecraftstore.io and Stripe take from each sale, how the platform fee is rounded, and what you keep on a €10 rank.

Two fees come off every sale: the platform fee for Minecraftstore.io and Stripe's payment fee. This page explains both, and works them out on a €10 rank.

The platform fee

Your store is free. There is no monthly fee to sell. Minecraftstore.io takes a fee per order instead:

  • 5% of the order total, with a minimum of €0.25.
  • The fee is the higher of the two: 5% of the total, or the minimum.
  • It is never more than the order total.

You can see the fee of your store on the Payouts page, under What it costs.

How it is calculated

The fee is worked out per order, not per product. If a player buys three items in one checkout, there is one fee on the total, and the minimum counts once.

The total is what the player pays after a coupon. A €10 rank with a 20% coupon costs the player €8.00, so the fee is 5% of €8.00.

All amounts are whole cents. When 5% does not land on a whole cent, it is rounded half up. For example, 5% of €4.99 is 24.95 cents, which becomes €0.25.

The fee stays with the order

Each order keeps the fee it was charged when the player paid. If the fee of your store changes later, orders you already have stay as they were. The platform can set a different fee for a single store, for example for a larger server.

The Pro fee

With Pro, the platform fee drops to 2.5%, with the same minimum of €0.25. Pro costs €9.99 a month.

The lower fee applies to orders paid while Pro is on. Orders from before keep their fee. If your store already has its own fee that is lower than the Pro fee, the lower one stays.

Stripe's payment fee

Stripe charges a fee for handling each payment. Its size depends on how the player paid: a European card costs less than some other methods. Stripe lists 1.5% + €0.25 for a standard European card.

You pay this fee, not the platform. The way Stripe Connect works, Stripe first charges its fee to the platform. Once the payment has settled, we read the exact fee Stripe charged for that payment and take back that amount from the transfer to your Stripe account. There is no estimate or markup: it is Stripe's real fee, to the cent.

On the order page in your dashboard you see:

Line What it is
Paid by the player The order total
Platform fee The percentage and minimum of your store at the time of the order
Stripe payment fee Stripe's exact fee. It shows Known shortly until the payment has settled
You receive The total, less both fees

If you refund an order, Stripe does not return its payment fee. That fee stays with you. See Refunds and chargebacks.

Worked example: a €10 rank

A player buys a €10.00 rank and pays with a standard European card.

Free With Pro
Player pays €10.00 €10.00
Platform fee €0.50 (5%) €0.25 (2.5%)
Stripe payment fee €0.40 (1.5% + €0.25) €0.40
You receive €9.10 €9.35

Pro saves €0.25 on each €10 sale. At €9.99 a month, it pays for itself from about 40 of those sales a month. Below that, the free store is cheaper.

Where the minimum matters

On small purchases the minimum takes over. A €2.00 crate key: 5% is €0.10, so the fee is the minimum of €0.25. On a €5.00 order, 5% is exactly €0.25. From €5.00 up, the percentage is higher than the minimum and counts instead.

Where to see what you paid

  • The Payouts page shows the platform fee you paid this month.
  • Every order shows its own fees and what you receive.
  • The order export lists the platform fee and the payment fee per order. See Sales tax and exporting orders.
