Payouts
How money from your store reaches your bank through Stripe, what the Payouts page shows, and where to change your payout schedule.
Players pay through Stripe, and Stripe pays you out to your bank. This page explains the Payouts page in your dashboard and what Stripe handles for you.
How the money flows
When a player pays, the money goes to your own Stripe account. The platform fee is kept back at that moment, and Stripe's payment fee is taken back once the payment has settled. See Fees. Stripe then sends what is in your account to your bank.
Minecraftstore.io never holds your money and never sees your bank details. Stripe checks who you are, keeps your bank account and does the payouts.
Setting up payouts
You need a Stripe account before players can pay. If you have not set it up yet, see Connect Stripe. In short:
- Open Payouts in the menu, under Settings.
- Pick the Country of your bank account.
- Click Set up payouts. Stripe asks for your details and your bank account on its own pages.
- You come back to the dashboard. Players can pay as soon as Stripe has checked everything.
If Stripe still needs something, the page says so in a yellow box with a list, like Your date of birth or A bank account to pay out to. If there is a deadline, it shows Finish before a date, or Stripe pauses payouts. Click Continue setting up payouts to finish.
What the Payouts page shows
Balance and earnings
Four numbers at the top:
| Number | What it means |
|---|---|
| available at Stripe | Money in your Stripe account that can be paid out |
| still settling | Payments Stripe has received but not yet released |
| earned this month | Paid orders since the start of the month, less the platform fee and Stripe's payment fee. Refunded and charged back orders do not count |
| platform fee this month | The platform fees on this month's orders |
The balance comes from Stripe and is kept for a minute. Click Refresh to ask Stripe again.
Recent payouts
The last payouts Stripe sent, with the amount and a status. A payout on its way shows Expected with a date. One that reached your bank shows Arrived with a date. If a payout failed, Stripe's reason is shown under it.
Where your money goes
- Bank account: the bank and the last four digits of the account Stripe pays out to.
- When Stripe pays out: your payout schedule, as Stripe has set it.
- Payments and payouts: whether Stripe has turned on payments and payouts for your account.
If Stripe does not answer, the page says Stripe did not answer. Your money is safe at Stripe. Try again in a minute.
Your Stripe dashboard
Click Open Stripe dashboard at the top of the Payouts page. It opens your Stripe Express dashboard, where you:
- change your bank account;
- change your payout schedule;
- fill in your tax details;
- see every payment and payout;
- make refunds and answer disputes. See Refunds and chargebacks.
An administrator of Minecraftstore.io who looks along in your dashboard cannot open your Stripe dashboard or start the payout setup. Your bank and identity details are yours alone.
The payout schedule
When you get paid is decided by Stripe, not by Minecraftstore.io. Stripe sets a schedule once your account is ready, and the Payouts page shows it under When Stripe pays out. Until then it says Set by Stripe once your account is ready.
To change it, open your Stripe dashboard.
Currencies
Your store has one currency: euro, US dollar or British pound. You pick it when you create your store. Prices in your store are shown in that currency, players pay in it, and Stripe pays you out in it.
The dashboard has no setting to change the currency of a store later, so choose the one most of your players use.
Countries
You can set up payouts in the countries where Stripe offers Connect accounts with the Express dashboard. The list of countries is in the Country of your bank account field on the Payouts page.
