Sales and coupons

Lower prices for a while with a sale on your whole store, a category or chosen products, or give players a discount code for the checkout.

There are two ways to give a discount. A sale lowers the price for everyone, without a code. A coupon is a code players type at the checkout. This page explains both and how they work together.

Sales

A sale takes a percentage or an amount off the price for a while. Players see the old price struck through next to the new one. A sale starts and stops by itself on the dates you set.

Add a sale

Go to Sales in the dashboard and click Add sale. Fill in:

  • Name: up to 48 characters, like Summer sale. Players see it next to the lower price.
  • Discount: Percentage or Amount. Then type the Percentage off, like 20, or the Amount off, like 5.00.
  • On: what the sale covers.
    • Whole store: every product.
    • One category: pick the category. Its subcategories are included.
    • Chosen products: tick one or more products.
  • Starts and Ends: optional. Leave a date empty for no limit. Times are in the timezone shown in the form.
  • Turned on: switch it off to pause the sale. Players then pay the normal price.

Click Add sale to save.

A percentage is between 0.01 and 100. An amount is between 0.01 and 9,999.99. A sale never takes more off than the price of the product.

Manage sales

The list shows each sale with its discount, what it is on, its dates and a status:

Status Meaning
Running Players get the lower price now.
Scheduled The start date is still to come.
Ended The end date has passed.
Off The sale is turned off.

Open the menu at the end of a row to Edit, Turn off, Turn on or Delete a sale. Deleting a sale puts the normal price back. Orders placed during the sale keep the price they paid.

Coupons

A coupon is a code like SUMMER10 that players type at the checkout. Share it in your Discord or on your server.

Add a coupon

Go to Coupons in the dashboard and click Add coupon. Fill in:

  • Code: what players type. 3 to 32 characters, using letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores, without spaces. Upper and lower case are the same, so summer10 works for SUMMER10. Each code can exist once in your store.
  • Discount: Percentage or Amount, then the Percentage off or Amount off. The same limits apply as for sales.
  • Works from and Works until: optional. Leave a date empty for no limit.
  • Most uses: how often the code can be used in total, by all players. Empty is no limit.
  • Turned on: switch it off and players get a message that the code does not work.

Click Add coupon to save.

How a coupon is applied

A player can use one coupon per order. The discount comes off the order total, not off one product:

  • A percentage coupon takes that percentage off the subtotal.
  • An amount coupon takes that amount off the subtotal, but never more than the subtotal.

Card payments have a minimum. If a coupon brings the total below 0.50 EUR or USD, or 0.30 GBP, the checkout says the total must be at least that amount.

Follow your coupons

The list shows each code with its discount, how often it was Used, when it is Valid, the Discount given and a status. A use counts once the order is paid. Discount given leaves out refunded orders.

Status Meaning
Active Players can use it now.
Scheduled Works from is still to come.
Expired Works until has passed.
Used up It reached Most uses.
Off The coupon is turned off.

Open the menu at the end of a row to Edit, Turn off, Turn on or Delete it. Orders that used a deleted coupon keep their discount and still show the code. To keep a coupon's numbers in the list, turn it off instead of deleting it.

How sales and coupons combine

  • Sales do not stack. When two sales cover the same product, for example a store sale and a category sale, the bigger discount counts.
  • A coupon comes off the sale price. A product of 10.00 in a 20% sale costs 8.00. A 10% coupon then takes 0.80 off.
  • The {price} placeholder in a command is the sale price of one item, before the coupon. See Commands and placeholders.

The platform fee is calculated on the total after all discounts. See Fees.
