Tebex fees explained, worked out on a 10 euro rank

12 October 2026 · 3 min read

"5% per sale" sounds simple, but it is rarely the whole price of a webshop. There is the platform fee, the fee for handling the payment, and sometimes a monthly plan. This post adds them up for Tebex and for Minecraftstore.io, with the sources, so you can check every number yourself.

Prices change. Everything below is what the providers publish as we write this, in October 2026.

What Tebex charges

  • Platform fee: 5% of each sale for Minecraft and most games, and 15% for FiveM. Tebex takes it before taxes and payment fees. (Tebex platform fee)
  • Payment fees depend on how the player pays. Tebex publishes its PayPal rate as 2.49% + $0.40. (Tebex fees overview)
  • Creator codes add 1% when a sale uses one.
  • Plans: Starter is free with the standard template. Plus costs £12.49 a month and adds custom templates, HTML and CSS editing and your own domain, among other things. New stores get a trial of Plus. (Starter and Plus)

What Minecraftstore.io charges

  • Platform fee: 5% of each sale, with a minimum of €0.25. With Pro it is 2.5%.
  • Payment fee: Stripe's own price for the way the player paid, passed on exactly. For a standard European card Stripe lists 1.5% + €0.25.
  • Plan: none needed to sell. Your own domain is free. Pro is €9.99 a month for four more themes, your own CSS, the lower fee and no "Powered by" line.

Worked out on a €10 rank, paid by European card

Minecraftstore.io With Pro
Player pays €10.00 €10.00
Platform fee €0.50 €0.25
Stripe payment fee €0.40 €0.40
You keep €9.10 €9.35

Pro costs €9.99 a month and saves €0.25 on every €10 sale, so it pays for itself from about 40 such sales a month. Below that, the free plan is cheaper.

On Tebex the platform fee on the same rank is also €0.50. What you keep after that depends on the payment fee for the method the player picks, which Tebex charges on top. If you need custom templates or your own domain, add the Plus plan.

The difference that is not in the fee

The bigger difference is who sells the rank. Tebex sells to the player on your behalf as merchant of record. It deals with sales tax across countries, chargebacks and payment fraud, and pays you out. That is worth something, especially when your players come from all over the world.

On Minecraftstore.io the money goes to your own Stripe account and on to your bank. You are the seller, so sales tax and disputes are yours, and you get the money without a middleman. Which one fits depends on your server: we wrote down when Tebex is the better choice too.

Check it with your own numbers
